For your information, the Passport Index is a classifier of countries based on the principle of freedom of movement of their citizens (the ability to visit other countries without obtaining an entry visa or with a visa on arrival), published in 2006 by the international consulting company Henley & Partners in conjunction with the International Air Transport Association.
According to the company, citizens of Uzbekistan can visit 59 countries this year within the visa-free regime. At the same time, our republic took 88th place in the ranking.
Japan tops the Index for visa-free (or visa-on-arrival) destinations. For holders of passports of this state, 193 countries are open. Singapore and South Korea came in second with 192 visa-free destinations. Passports from Germany, Spain, Finland, Italy and Luxembourg ranked third in terms of visa-free travel to 190 countries.
The British passport was in sixth place (187 countries), Swiss - in seventh (186). Of the countries of the former USSR, Lithuania has the most “strong” passport in terms of freedom of travel, it allows you to travel without a visa to 182 countries of the world (tenth place). Estonia and Latvia are on the 11th line (181 countries), Ukraine - on the 35th (144 countries), Georgia - on the 52nd (116 visa-free destinations), and Belarus - on the 71st (78 countries), Kazakhstan - on the 73rd (76 countries).
Turkmenistan has the lowest indicator among the post-Soviet countries: the passport of a citizen of this country allows visa-free entry to only 53 states. Well, Afghanistan has an absolute anti-record, from where you can enter only 27 countries without a visa.
Russian passport holders are in practice cut off from the rest of the world more than ever due to visa difficulties and airspace closures in the EU, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, the US and the UK. Therefore, Russians have difficulty traveling to these destinations - Istanbul and Dubai have become central transit points for moving around the world.
