Uzbek universities place in QS 2025 sustainable development rankings
The global higher education analysis agency QS has released its 2025 ranking of the world's best universities for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. This ranking evaluates around 2,000 universities worldwide and includes seven universities from Uzbekistan. One of these universities improved its position from last year, while four others are new to the list.
“The National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” is ranked 828th. Other Uzbek universities included in this ranking are Tashkent State University of Economics, Tashkent State Technical University, Tashkent State University of Transport, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, and Urgench State University. Among them, “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” achieved the highest scores in five key indicators of the ranking methodology. Uzbekistan's higher education institutions performed best in the “Sustainable Development in Environmental Protection” category. A similar trend is seen in the “Management Model” category, which evaluates factors such as adherence to ethical standards, the use of best practices in recruitment, and transparency in decision-making.
