Uzbekistan Introduces Regulations for Dog Training

The Minister of Internal Affairs in Uzbekistan has established a procedure for training dogs in obedience and guarding, as well as for the sale of service dogs. Paid services for training dogs, whether owned by individuals, legal entities, or from breeding kennels, exceeding the needs of internal affairs bodies, are regulated by the ministry.

The approved regulation outlines the rules for training dogs in general obedience and guarding skills, along with the sale of service dogs. Funds generated from these services and dog sales will be transferred to the Special Extrabudgetary Fund of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, aiming to enhance the material and technical capabilities of canine departments and provide financial incentives to employees.

To access paid services, customers can apply directly or electronically to the canine departments. The date for the initial clinical examination of the dog will be announced within 5 working days of receiving the application.

The customer's dog undergoes a preliminary clinical examination by veterinary doctors from cynology departments, and a veterinary opinion is generated based on the results. If the dog is deemed healthy, a contract for paid services is signed between the customer and the cynology department in duplicate.

After a two-month training course for general obedience and guarding skills, dogs are tested in the presence of the customer. Dogs that do not pass the test receive additional training free of charge upon the customer's request by the canine department.

This document was published in the national database of legal documents and came into effect on December 6.
