Uzbekistan ranks 108th in global gender gap indexes
According to the 2024 Global Gender Gap Index report, Uzbekistan ranked 108th out of 146 countries with a score of 0.681. The country performed well in education, scoring 0.990, and in health, scoring 0.959.
The Gender Gap Index measures gender equality in four key areas: health, education, economy, and politics. Scores range from 0 (disparity) to 1 (gender equality). Let’s make an overview of the figures on the sectors. Within the indicators, educational attainment, health and survival showed the highest numbers with 0.990 and 0.959, respectively.
Economic participation and opportunity accounted for 0.598. Political empowerment showed relatively lower indicators with 0.176. While the ranking of Uzbekistan were not higher, it increased compared to the previous years.
