Uzbekistan Revamps Initial Military Training in Education
The Cabinet of Ministers in Uzbekistan has released a draft decision regarding the organization of initial training in educational institutions before military conscription. The decision outlines several key points:
The establishment of the necessary material and technical support for the Initial Military Training program will be overseen by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as regional, district, and city governments.
A process will be defined for assigning military ranks and qualification categories to reserve officers who work as Initial Military Training teachers.
The curriculum in schools, lyceums, and vocational schools will be revised to reflect educational reforms.
The educational and material resources for will be approved, including the necessary classroom equipment.
Protocols for storing training equipment such as AK-74 training weapons, training grenades, mines, and cartridges will be established within defense departments and educational institutions.
Practical shooting exercises will be organized at military ranges, involving 11th-grade students and 2nd-year students from secondary schools, academic lyceums, and vocational schools.
Standardized reporting procedures for CSBT training will be introduced, fostering collaboration among relevant bodies.
The implementation of this draft decision is estimated to require a total of 157.7 billion soums. This includes 50.6 billion soums from the state budget for enhanced teacher salaries based on their qualification category.
