Experimental modernization of the T-64 is carried out at the production base of the armoured repair plant of the Ministry of Defense. In particular, the 5TDF engine was replaced with a V-shaped V-84 engine, which increased its power by 140 HP and adapted the tank to overcome any natural obstacles.
The tank's hull was also reinforced with additional armour.
