Germany's national coach Joachim Loew is on the shortlist for his success in leading his side to aFIFA Confederations Cup victory for the first time.
Brazil's head coach Tite is also on the list after he guided the team to the 2018 World Cup finals, the first team to qualify.
A year on from making the three-man shortlist for last year's award, Zinedine Zidane is a serious contender for the accolade.
Other coaches to have made it on the shortlist are Massimiliano Allegri, Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte, Luis Enrique, Pep Guardiola, Leonardo Jardim, Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino and Diego Simeone.
The public now has the chance to vote for the final three nominees with the result announced at a ceremony in London on October 23.
