Uzbek cyclist Sofia Karimova won a medal on the first day of cycling competitions in Turkey
The first start at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in Turkey ended with the first medal for the national team of Uzbekistan. It was brought by our compatriot, representative of the cycling team Sofia Karimova.
In the group race Scratch on the track, our compatriot recorded the third indicator, losing only to athletes from Kazakhstan and Malaysia. Nafosat Kozieva took 10th place.
Further, in the group race Scratch among men with a distance of 15 km, the panel of judges found out for a long time who to nominate for the prize-winning third place. As a result, after discussions, our compatriot Botir Ismatov was nominated for the fourth place!
The race was uncompromising and extremely exciting. A total of 19 cyclists from countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Turkey started. And each of the guys fought to the last. The first place went to the representative of the United Arab Emirates. Unfortunately, our compatriot Danil Evdokim fell and got injured.
