Football, hockey, and basketball are traditionally the most popular sports. And now we can add eSports to this list also. After all, eSports has already attracted hundreds of thousands of fans, while hundreds of millions of people all over the world watch broadcasts. Uzbekistan is no exception.

Uzbekistan inaugurated its first eSports federation back in 2016. Recently the capital saw a conference between similar organizations of 5 countries, including Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Exchange of experience and cooperation was in the focus of negotiations. The heads of the federations discussed the disciplines that could be used to hold tournaments in different game disciplines between 5 countries. Discussions resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of cooperation.

The parties agreed to hold friendly matches and exchange strategic development plans. Moreover, at the end of the event, the Uzbek side proposed to establish the Central Asian eSports Federation. Full-scale tournaments, and minors once a year are set to be organized under this organization. The new plans are to be implemented in cooperation with the international federations IESF and AESF.
