9 April — Amir Temur’s birth anniversary
"Justice is not in power, power is in justice!" This motto guided the life of the leader, Amir Temur. Born on April 9, 1336, in the village of Khoja Ilgor near Kesh, young Temur was fascinated by science and military pursuits from an early age. He builе a powerful empire, beginning by uniting lands between the Amu Darya and Syr Darya rivers, along with the Fergana and Shash regions. Over time, he expanded his realm extensively, establishing a t kingdom that stretched from the Indus to the Syr Darya and Zarafshan, and from the Tien Shan mountains to the Bosphorus strait, with Samarkand as its capital.
Amir Temur's rule lasted for 35 years (1370 - 1405), during which he actively campaigned to end conflicts while promoting advancements in science and culture. He also encouraged trade and diplomatic relations with major European kingdoms like France and England. In his lifetime, Amir Temur wrote a work called "Temur Tuziklari" on state management, which consists of two parts describing his biography, military strategy, state governance, and administration. Amir Timur, the founder of the Great Sultanate, passed away in the city of Utrar in 1405 during his journey towards China.
In 1996, to commemorate the 660th anniversary of Amir Temur's birth, the State Museum of the History of the Timurids was established in Tashkent. An avenue in this area was named "Amir Temur", and his statue was placed in the center of the avenue. Also in 1996, the film "Great Amir Temur" was directed by Uzbek film producers. Even today, Amir Temur's works and teachings in political administration continue to be a valuable legacy for Uzbek people.
