President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his trip to the northwest Khorezm region on December 12-13 discussed the implementation of various projects aiming to create more than 16 thousand jobs in the region.

For instance, the city of Urgench has the prospects to develop the textile production, Khiva will see a growth in material construction and tourism, Gurlen district will see have a further expansion in greenhouse facilities, Tuprakkala will improve its mechanical and electrical engineering.
Particular attention was paid to social issues. Mirziyoyev instructed to build 100 multi-storey buildings for 2 thousand apartments next year and improve drinking water supply in all districts of the region.
One of the largest projects will be a 413-meter bridge across the Amu Darya, which will connect Khorezm with Karakalpakstan, as well as a 79-kilometer railway from Shavat district to Karauzyak. In the next three years, 2,370 kilometers of internal roads will be repaired.
Other projects include allocating $47.9 billion to aid family entrepreneurship. For improving the transport facilities and domestic tourism, air and rail links with the Fergana Valley will be established.
