Turkish company plans to build another thermal power plant in Syrdarya

Acting Governor of the region Akmaljon Makhmudaliyev received the General director of the Turkish company Cengiz Energy, Ahmed Cengiz. During the conversation, topical issues of further development of partnership relations and expansion of cooperation were discussed.
Speaking about the interaction between Uzbekistan and Turkey, the sides noted that today, at the initiative of the heads of the two states, all spheres of interaction are reaching a new level, and major energy projects are being implemented that are important for the development of the economy.
The head of the company noted that the project for the construction of a 220 MW gas-piston power plant in the Khovda district was a success, it will be launched at full capacity by the end of December this year. It was also stated that a project for the construction of another large 450 MW gas-piston power plant worth $300 million is being developed, for which the infrastructure capabilities of the region have been comprehensively studied.
The Governor of the region noted that in the Syrdarya, the production capacities of industrial enterprises are increasing every year, while the demand for electricity will grow, and expressed readiness for cooperation in this area, and also held additional negotiations with relevant ministries and departments.
It is assumed that 800-900 local workers will be involved in construction work under this project, creating 100-120 permanent jobs after the launch.
