Uzbek hotels to provide services for foreigners in UZS
In accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 2 September 2017, №УП-5177 "On priority measures to liberalize the foreign exchange policy" on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
In accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 2 September 2017, №УП-5177 "On priority measures to liberalize the foreign exchange policy" on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
- it is prohibited to make payments in foreign currency for goods (works and services), with the exception of payments via international payment cards in accordance with international practice;
- prices and tariffs for goods, works and services, as well as the minimum requirements to Сharter capital of societies is determined only in the national currency;
- state duty, fees and other compulsory charges are levied only in the national currency, with the exception of consular fees.
On this basis, according to the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on tourism development, starting from 5 September 2017:
- payment for accommodation in hotels and other accommodation facilities provided to foreign citizens and persons without citizenship are carried out in national currency – UZS, except when payment is made using international plastic cards (VISA, Master Card, etc.).
- tourist tax is paid by the customers in national currency at the rate of 8100 sum.
