Uzbekistan doubles car production
According to the Statistics Agency, Uzbekistan’s enterprises produced 53.3 thousand passenger cars during January and February. This figure is double of the car production during the same period last year.
The growth in car production is due to the increased output of some models. Uzbekistan's auto plants have excelled in manufacturing Chevrolet Cobalt cars, with production reaching 16,000 units, twice the amount compared to the previous year. Additionally, the production of KIA cars in the country grew 3.2 times, which is 4,100 cars. There is also an increase in the production of Chevrolet Tracker cars. Within the first two months of this year, the output of these cars has multiplied by six, reaching a total of 6.5 thousand units.
Since the beginning of this year, 128 thousand cars have been sold in the country, showing an annual growth rate of 8%. Moreover, the sales of new domestically produced cars have experienced an increase of 20%.
