Uzbekistan Mandates Authorized Importers for Electrical Products

Starting February 1, 2024, when bringing certain electrical products into Uzbekistan, it is now a requirement that the importer be an authorized representative or an official dealer of the manufacturer. This directive is outlined in the president's decision on January 10, titled "On additional measures to further boost the production and export potential of the electrical engineering industry."

As per this decision, these representatives and dealers are obligated to "ensure the quality, safety, and service and offer customer support" for the following list of products:

- Aluminum radiators

- Water heating boilers

- Water heaters

- Steam boilers

- Vacuum cleaners

- Washing machines

- Refrigerators and freezers

- TVs and monitors

- Household gas stoves

- Ovens and stoves

- Microwave ovens, irons, and water heaters

- Air conditioners

- Water pumps

On the Uzeltexsanoat website, which features 31 member enterprises associated with electrical engineering production in Uzbekistan, notable names include Polaris Technologies, Quality Device, Future Industry Systems, Quality Electronics, Techno Continental, Next Generation Product, Biss Electronics System (known for Opposite S Smart TVs), Sam-Ferry (producer of Femas brand household appliances and Cleo refrigerators), and others. Please note that some enterprises may have undergone changes, being either liquidated or renamed, but their founders were or are affiliated with Artel Electronics.
