Uzbekistan, Russia eye bilateral trade at $10bn

Uzbekistan and Russia have agreed to expand the volume of bilateral trade to $10bn. Heads of government of both states met in Moscow on June 22-23, to attend the meeting of the Joint commission. Following the events, the delegates inked more than 10 documents.

The parties agreed to exchange data on the customs value of goods originating from Uzbekistan and imported to Russia, to jointly combat dubious financial transactions in foreign trade and to cooperate in the field of ICT, education and labor protection.

Russia is the second largest trading partner of Uzbekistan. Bilateral trade in 2020 amounted to $5.6bn.
