Uzbekistan to Present Budget Expenditures to population
In Uzbekistan, budget expenditures will be announced to the population in an understandable manner. It is stated in the presidential decree on the state program aimed at implementing the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy in 2024.
According to the document, the Ministry of Economy and Finance will publish annual and half-yearly reports based on financial documents on state budget and local budget revenues, as well as realized and planned expenses, on its website in an easy-to-understand manner.
Furthermore, starting from July 1, 2024, large taxpayers with a state share of 50 percent and above will be required to implement corporate social responsibility and environmental, social, and governance practices, and to publicly disclose reports on the state of corporate governance by July 1 of each year. The main purpose is to significantly increase the level of openness in the activities of state-owned enterprises and to further improve corporate governance.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the State Assets Management Agency have been appointed to be responsible for ensuring its full and high-quality implementation.
