Extradition agreement between Uzbekistan and Turkey enters into force

Extradition Agreement between Uzbekistan and Turkey of 30 April 2018 entered into force on 20 August.

The agreement aims at expanding cooperation in the criminal law sphere and ensuring more effective cooperation between the two countries in the fight against crime.

The document provides for the procedure and conditions for the extradition of persons, the grounds for refusal of extradition, the form and content of the request, as well as the necessary supporting documents to be transferred to the requested party.

Under the Agreement, each party undertakes to extradite to the requesting party persons wanted for criminal prosecution or execution of a sentence for an extraditable offence.
