Tanzila Narbayeva discusses expansion of co-operation with the UN Secretary-general
Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva has held a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in New York. The current state and prospects for the development of Uzbekistan's cooperation with the United Nations were discussed.
The dialogue also focused on strengthening regional cooperation between Central Asian countries. During the dialogue, the sides discussed issues related to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, including gender equality.Guterres emphasised the important role of Uzbekistan in the current positive development of relations between the Central Asian countries.
During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on cooperation with the United Nations to promote Uzbekistan's initiatives in the international arena, support the reforms being implemented in the country, and take concrete steps to expand and deepen regional cooperation.
At the end of the dialogue the agreement on further expansion of mutually beneficial relations between Uzbekistan and the UN was reached.
