Tashkent-Doha Flights to Begin
Flights are set to commence on the Tashkent-Doha route following a meeting between Shavkat Umurzakov, the acting mayor of Tashkent city, and Qatar's extraordinary and autonomous ambassador to Uzbekistan, Hassan Hamza Hashim. The discussions focused on elevating bilateral cooperation by implementing projects in logistics, tourism, construction, trade, and services.
Shavkat Umurzakov devised a roadmap to execute the Memorandum of Understanding, signed in Samarkand, which establishes cooperative relations between Tashkent and Doha. The initiative aims to invite Qatar's business delegations to participate in projects in New Tashkent city, promote Uzbekistan's pilgrimage tourism sites in Qatar, and foster mutual visits through the launch of flights on the Tashkent-Doha route. Additionally, cultural events were highlighted for enhanced cultural exchanges.
More than 15 agreements were signed during the visit, initiating practical steps toward mutual development across various sectors. He expressed optimism for the extensive potential of cooperation. Concluding the meeting, both parties affirmed their commitment to ongoing practical dialogues.
