Uzbekistan Delegation Strengthens Judicial and Anti-Corruption Ties with Qatar
The Uzbekistan delegation visited Qatar on January 24, where they met with Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Mohannadi, the Chairman of the Council of the Supreme Court. The parties discussed national experiences in criminal justice and exchanged information on reforms, including Uzbekistan's use of information and communication technologies in the judicial system.
Additionally, the delegation held a meeting with Sheikh Ahmad Al Thani, the head of the Qatar Financial Intelligence Service (QFIU), focusing on combating serious crimes like money laundering and terrorist financing. Both sides expressed readiness for cooperation in addressing these issues.
As part of the visit, the delegation met with Dr. Ali Al-Marri, the head of the Qatar Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center. The Uzbek side presented the International Award in the fight against corruption, held in Tashkent in December, with the support of Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The award ceremony, symbolizing anti-corruption efforts, was highlighted as a significant step for bilateral cooperation in preventing and fighting corruption.
