Uzbekistan is asking European Union to cancel sanctions against Alisher Usmanov

According to him, the sanctions prevent the businessman from investing in Uzbekistan
After the Russian-Ukrainian war, Russian businessmen were subjected to various sanctions from other countries. In particular, Uzbek billionaire Alisher Usmanov.
According to The Financial Times, Uzbekistan is asking for the cancellation of the sanctions imposed on Alisher Usmanov in negotiations with the representatives of the European Union. Sanctions prevent entrepreneurs from investing in Uzbekistan. The government of Uzbekistan has expressed its readiness to provide legal assistance to the businessman if necessary.
For reference, Usmanov was one of 26 Russians sanctioned by the European Union in February, after the EU claimed he was one of the Russian president's "favorite oligarchs". His sister Gulbahor Ismailova was also punished because she was the legal owner of some of Usmanov's assets, including the $600 million yacht Dilbar.
