Financial sanctions to be imposed for illegal tree cutting
New amendments were made to the Code of Administrative Responsibility that can contribute to save the environment. Financial sanctions will now be imposed on legal entities that illegally cut down trees. Additionally, administrative sanctions for illegal cutting, burning, or damage of trees have been strengthened.
The Code of Administrative Responsibility was amended to establish administrative responsibility for developing project documents leading to the cutting, felling, damage, or destruction of valuable species of trees and shrubs.
Furthermore, according to the law, individuals who illegally cut down or destroy unique species of trees and shrubs that are not part of the state forest fund must plant compensatory tree and shrub saplings exactly where they were cut and care for them for three years. This law is effective from the date of its official publication.
