How does “Test First, Then Selection” principles work?
Starting this year, entrance exams for state higher and professional educational institutions will follow the "test first, then selection" principle. During the "Government Hour" in the Legislative Chamber, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations reported on the work being done in this area.
The Minister announced that the state order parameters for the 2024/2025 academic year have been set for undergraduate and master's programs. The proposal includes increasing state grant quotas for engineering, processing and construction, health and social welfare, natural sciences, and ICT.
From the 2nd year, students in higher education programs for pedagogy will follow a "4+2" weekly schedule: 4 days of classes at the higher education institution and 2 days at preschool, general secondary, or professional educational institutions. Additionally, the "Government Hour" provided information on targeted admission quotas.
The minister stated that entrance exams for state higher and professional educational institutions will follow a "test first, then selection" process in two stages. After the first stage of registration, creative exams will be held from July 1-25, and tests from July 14-28. Applicants will receive their creative exam scores on the same day and test results the next day. As of June 11, 85,000 applicants have registered for the exams. At the end of the "Government Hour," it was announced that parliamentary control will oversee the issue discussed.
