Labor migration agreement between Uzbekistan and Austria
Uzbekistan and Austria are preparing to sign an agreement on organized labor migration. The Agency for External Labor Migration reported that both countries agreed to develop an intergovernmental agreement, which will help Uzbek citizens access well-paid jobs in Austria and launch joint projects.
The agreement will create opportunities for Uzbek specialists to work legally in Austria. During a recent visit to Austria, agency director Behzod Musaev and officials from the Ministries of Foreign and Internal Affairs met with Austrian ministries and institutions to discuss cooperation. They also met with Deputy Director of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber Astrid Fixl-Pummer, to attract Uzbek specialists to Austrian companies.
In April, a WKO (Austrian Economic Chamber) representative office will open in Tashkent, alongside a labor forum with Austrian employers.
