Tashkent Partners with Chinese Company for Innovative Cable Taxi Project
Tashkent city mayor Shavkat Umurzakov and a delegation met with representatives from "Beijing North Bartholet Ropeway Technology Co., Ltd" in Shenzhen, China. The company's director of cooperation with the CIS countries, Bei Qiu, welcomed the delegation and discussed joint ventures focusing on Swiss-quality urban mobility solutions.
Umurzakov outlined major projects planned for Tashkent, including green public transport development. Various transport options and routes for the city were proposed during the meeting.
Bei Qiu expressed interest in collaboration and pledged support for Tashkent's initiatives. Following the discussions, an investment agreement was signed between "Tashkent Investment Company" JSC and "Beijing North Bartholet Ropeway Technology Co., Ltd." The project aims to introduce cable taxis as an alternative to surface transportation, with plans for a public presentation. Feedback from the public will be considered, and the company will handle implementation and operational management.
"Beijing North Bartholet Ropeway Technology Co., Ltd." is a joint venture between China and Switzerland's Bartholet Maschinenbau AG, specializing in cable cars, amusement parks, mechanical engineering, and lighting equipment. The proposed projects address traffic considerations, city development, the airport, Expo center, and upcoming international events.
