Uzbek government turns off electricity for one hour on World Earth Hour day

25th March, Uzbekistan is celebrating the World Earth Hour day. This year, government is planning to take special action. To take care of the planet and preserve natural resources, electricity will be turned off in all state organizations for one hour.

The purpose of the action is to raise awareness of the world community towards the problem of climate change on Earth and to unite in solving environmental problems. "Earth Hour" is a major environmental action held annually on an international scale.

This event was held for the first time in 2007 by the World Wildlife Fund in Australia. As a symbol of concern for environmental problems, the organizers call on the inhabitants of the planet to turn off the lights and household electrical equipment for 60 minutes. Also, lights illuminating famous buildings and monuments around the world will be turned off.
