Uzbek chess player becomes world champion
On June 6-8, Batumi, Georgia held the world championship for girls U-18. Uzbek chess player Umida Omonova scored 9 points out of 10 chances in the rapid course and became the world champion.
Umida Omonova, who collected 10 points in 11 rounds, won the World Cadet and Youth Rapid Competition in the "Girls 18" group, while Sobirova Mumtozbegim, who participated in the "Girls 08" group, scored 8 points. She won the silver medal of the "World Cadet & Youth Rapid Championships 2023" competition.
