Car market of Uzbekistan — CERR overview
May 2023 was marked by an increase in the level of car sales in Uzbekistan by almost 16%. The final sales for the past month amounted to 156 thousand cars.
The total number of passenger car sales exceeded 140 thousand, an increase of 16% over the month. A significant increase was recorded in the city of Tashkent by 37%, Andijan by 19% and Bukhara regions by 19%.
107.7 thousand passenger cars were sold on the secondary market during the month, which is 11.9% more than a month earlier. Compared to May of last year, there was a significant increase of 44%.
One of the factors of such a noticeable increase in car sales was the accumulated demand. At the same time, despite the suspension of sales of Uzavtomotors in early May, activity in the car market by the end of the month confidently recovered, due to the resumption of sales of Chevrolet Onix and Tracker in new trim levels.
Activity in the electric vehicle market continues to grow. In May, sales of passenger electric vehicles amounted to 1.9 thousand units, which is 28% more than in April.
