Veterinary Committee of Uzbekistan and Jizzax Organic to help farmers improve livestock breed

The Memorandum of understanding between the State Veterinary Committee and the national cluster Jizzax Organic provides for joint actions in the field of animal husbandry development, creating new jobs, and attracting local and foreign investors.

"President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has repeatedly raised animal breeding issues, as well as the need to strengthen cooperation between government agencies and farmers. Jizzax Organic is one of the largest investors in the agricultural sector. Its experience and skills will help improve the situation in the livestock sector," says Bahrom Norkobilov, Chairman of State Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development.

The signing of the Memorandum set to begin active work in the following areas:

- import of breeding cattle for sale to farmers without high margins;

- subsidizing owners of breeding cattle (the amount of subsidies ranges from 1 to 2 million soums per animal);

- consultation of farmers and livestock breeders by foreign experts of Jizzax Organic;

- updating the list of established veterinary drugs to the latest generation of vaccines;

- selection (embryonic and seed fertilization).
