The mayor of Tashkent Jahongir Artikhodjaev was fired, due to energy supply problems
Today during a meeting under the leadership of the President, the mayor of Tashkent, Jahongir Artikhodjaev was fired from his post due to shortcomings made in the process of providing energy resources to the city's population, the presidential press service reports. Artykhodjaev worked as the head of the city administration for 4 years. He was appointed as the mayor of Tashkent on On December 21, 2018.
During the meeting, Bakhtiyor Rakhmonov was appointed acting mayor of Tashkent. He previously worked as the first deputy of Jahongir Artikhodjaev. Deputy Minister of Energy Sherzod Khodjaev and Chairman of the Board of Issyklik Electric Station JSC Farkhod Abdurakhmanov have been relieved of their posts.
The heads of the administrations of Yunusabad, Mirzo-Ulugbek, and Uchtepa districts were also relieved of their duties.
