President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sharply criticizes the leadership of Karakalpakstan

During his speech at the extraordinary 34th meeting of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated the need to ensure the implementation of fundamental reforms based on the noble principle “For the sake of human dignity”, which should penetrate into every city and district, every village and household Karakalpakstan.
“Over the 6 years of my presidency, I came to this generous land most often, compared to other regions - 9 times. Here I had many conversations with elders, businessmen, youth representatives. During this period in Karakalpakstan, we adopted 31 decrees and resolutions aimed at integrated development. As a result, the number of business entities in the region has doubled, about 4,500 investment projects have been launched,” the president said.
It was noted that the provision of drinking water in Karakalpakstan increased from 40% to 68%, the level of enrollment in preschool education increased from 32% to 76%, and per capita income increased 2 times.
“Only during our visit in February this year, we allocated 1.5 trillion soums for the development of Karakalpakstan in all areas,” the president said.
The head of state noted that despite all the efforts and huge funds allocated to Karakalpakstan, problems that negatively affect the well-being of the population persist.
“Apparently, some unfair and dishonest leaders here have not yet understood the essence of the noble concept of “pleasing the people,” the president said.
Even today, there is still a high level of complaints among the population regarding drinking water, internal roads, electricity supply, unemployment and prices.
In fact, based on the events of 2 months ago, it became clear that some socio-economic problems of the population have not been resolved.
“Unfortunately, some leaders, instead of honestly serving our people, allow themselves to inefficiently spend funds aimed at ensuring their well-being, not to use the opportunities created, not to work for the sake of our country,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
