Uzbek Ambassador Concludes Successful Mission in Spain

The Uzbek Ambassador to Spain, Jahongir Ganiyev, recently concluded his diplomatic mission. Ganiyev met with the State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs of Spain, to mark the end of his tenure. She thanked the Uzbek diplomat for his positive role in advancing bilateral relations, fostering stable growth.

Both parties expressed confidence in the ongoing success of bilateral relations and the fulfillment of previously agreed-upon commitments.

Jahongir Ganiyev has been serving at the Uzbek Embassy in Madrid since 2017. Initially, he held the position of Chargé d'affaires, later becoming the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in 2018.

In 2020, Ganiyev was appointed as the Ambassador to the Vatican and also confirmed as the representative of the International Olive Council. He previously served as the Ambassador to Italy from 2007 to 2012, concurrently acting as the Permanent Representative to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the World Food Program (WFP).
