Uzbekistan President and FIFA Head Discuss Football Collaboration
On September 20, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan, met with Gianni Infantino, the head of FIFA, in New York. President Mirziyoyev congratulated Infantino on the successful 2023 Women's World Cup.
They discussed their effective partnership and joint programs to develop football and engage young people. They also talked about organizing FIFA international events in Uzbekistan, including women's and junior championships.
Infantino congratulated Uzbekistan for hosting the FIFA Futsal World Cup in 2024 and wished for its successful implementation. Infantino praised Uzbekistan's efforts to support public and professional football, create modern infrastructure, and improve the educational base.
