Uzbekistan signs memorandum of understanding with Huawei

On May 17, 2023, the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei's company in Uzbekistan within the framework of the China-Uzbekistan business forum. The memorandum is aimed at strengthening the ICT infrastructure and supporting the digital transformation of educational institutions. The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and Mr. Chen Jiakai, CEO of Huawei's company in Uzbekistan.

"During 24 years of operation in Uzbekistan, Huawei has always strived to closely cooperate with the local ecosystem to provide modern technologies and solutions. At the moment, Uzbekistan is taking rapid steps towards digital transformation. Each agreement with ecosystem partners creates more opportunities to develop intelligent and sustainable infrastructure. We hope that within the framework of the signed memorandum, we will be able to help speed up the process of digital transformation, which will benefit all citizens of the country," said Mr. Chen Jiakai.

Last month, a delegation consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, IT Park and local communication operators headed by Minister Sherzod Shermatov visited the headquarters of Huawei in Shenzhen, China. During the visit, the company presented innovations and trends in digital solutions for various sectors of the economy based on ICT technologies, including 5G and 5.5G technologies, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and energy-efficient technologies.
