Chinese company to help construct pumped-storage hydroelectric power station

Uzbekhydroenergo signed an agreement with a Chinese company on the construction of a pumped-storage hydroelectric power station. The project cost is estimated at $1 billion.

The facility with a capacity of 600 MW will be built in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region. On the sidelines of the Belt and Road Forum, Uzbekhydroenergo and the Chinese company China Southern Power Grid signed an agreement on the joint implementation of the project.

In July, three projects worth $1.6 billion were signed with this company: the "Yukori Pskem" pumped-storage hydroelectric power station, "Karateren," and the "Yukori Pskem" hydroelectric power station.
