Illegal gambling was advertised at the match of the national team of Uzbekistan
On November 20, 2022, during a friendly match held by the Uzbekistan national football team at the "Pakhtakor" stadium in Tashkent, an advertisement of a bookmaker company was displayed illegally on the banners of the stadium.
This is a behavior that is contrary to the current legislation of Uzbekistan and may even lead to administrative and criminal liability.
In particular, according to Article 46 of the Law "On Advertising", gambling and other risk-based games, as well as gambling and other risk-based games organized using telecommunication networks and the Internet, are prohibited in the territory of Uzbekistan. Game advertising is prohibited.
Also, based on the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 176 "On measures to further regulate the organization and conduct of gambling games", gambling and other games based on risk are prohibited in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. (including bookmakers and totalizers) is prohibited.
According to Article 191 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, providing services for the organization, conduct or distribution of gambling and other games based on risk in the territory of Uzbekistan - from five times the amount of the base calculation it causes a fine of up to five times.
Such actions are punishable by a fine of fifty to seventy-five times the base calculation amount or three hundred to three hundred and sixty hours of compulsory community service or up to three years of correctional work based on Article 278 of the Criminal Code.
In addition, according to the draft law recently developed by the Ministry of Justice, responsibility for illegal activities related to the organization, conduct and participation in gambling and other games based on risk is envisaged.
