The governments of Uzbekistan and Japan signed exchange notes on the project "Providing Scholarships for Training"
On July 4, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Yoshinori Fujiyama and the Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdukodir Toshkulov signed Exchange Notes on the project "Providing Scholarships for Personnel Training" in the amount of about $ 2.76 million.
The amount of the grant for this project is about $2.76 million, within the framework of the gratuitous aid program of the Japanese government. It should be noted here that Japan has been supporting Uzbekistan in the sustainable development of the economy and public administration for many years. One example of Japan's assistance is providing the necessary funding to obtain a master's or doctoral degree in English in Japanese universities for young civil servants, on whom the future of Uzbekistan depends.
It is noteworthy that through the JDS Project, in 2023, young civil servants of the Republic will have the opportunity to study in Japan with a maximum of 18 scholarship holders in the magistracy and 1 scholarship holder in doctoral studies.
It is expected that the implementation of the project will allow young professionals responsible for the future of Uzbekistan to acquire professional knowledge and apply it for the economic and social development of the country, deepen their knowledge of Japan, and promote the development of friendly relations between Japan and Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Uzbekistan. To further develop bilateral relations, the Japanese government will continue to work on developing human resources in Uzbekistan and promoting mutual understanding between the two countries.
