President visited modern shopping complex
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed ongoing construction and improvement projects in Tashkent city. Thanks to favorable conditions for investors, the private sector’s share in the economy is growing. Direct investments are being made, and promising projects are being implemented in industry, construction, trade, and services.
One such project is the “High Town City” complex in the Yunusabod district. This large development includes a shopping and entertainment center, a business center, a hotel, and modern residential buildings. A total of $510 million in foreign investment has been allocated to this project.
The President inspected the modern commercial and service facilities in the shopping center. The four-story building houses retail stores, including branches of well-known brands. It also features restaurants, cafes, entertainment venues, sports facilities, and cinemas. There is an underground parking lot.
The complex provides a space for shopping, relaxation, sports, and entertainment. It serves up to 5,000 people per day and employs 1,500 people. Recognizing its economic importance and benefits for the public, the President emphasized that supporting investors and entrepreneurs remains a key policy. He instructed officials to promote national products as brands and introduce them to foreign markets.
A cozy bookstore has also opened in the shopping center. The President welcomed this initiative and suggested setting up similar bookstores at metro stations and waiting areas. He emphasized that all efforts today are for the future, encouraging children to study well and develop their intellectual and creative potential.
Additionally, a 24-story, five-star hotel is planned for construction. It will have 250 rooms and accommodate 430 guests. The hotel will include modern conference halls, swimming pools, restaurants, and shops.
The head of state was also presented with a project for modern housing in the area. Plans include 28 multi-story buildings with 1,500 apartments. The courtyard will be a car-free, green space. A kindergarten, playground, tennis court, and underground parking will be built. The entire complex will have Wi-Fi, and the buildings will be equipped with noiseless elevators.
The President also reviewed plans to improve public transport in Tashkent. A key project is the extension of the Tashkent metro to the Tashkent Tractor Plant. He instructed officials to revise previous plans and consider alternative solutions. Under the new plan, the Chilonzor metro line will be extended to the Tashkent Tractor Plant, adding 10 new stations. This expansion will serve 30 neighborhoods and 148,000 residents.
Another major project involves developing the area near the Chirchik River in the Bektemir district. Multi-story residential, commercial, and service buildings will be constructed, accelerating urbanization and creating a new city center in the district.
