Tuberculosis is one of the diseases that threaten human health. Its treatment is a long and continuous process. At this time, naturally, the patient's body takes many medicines. However, it has been observed many times in medicine that the long-term use of drugs used in the treatment of the disease causes damage to other organs. Doctor of Chemistry Shavkat Shomurotov, head of the Laboratory of Biologically Active Macromolecular Systems of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, presented the drug Biomayrin, which has a quick and effective effect against tuberculosis, as a solution to this problem.
Currently, tuberculosis is treated mainly by chemotherapy, that is, with the help of drugs. In this, drugs such as isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, ethambutol, streptomycin are mainly used. Although these drugs are considered effective in the fight against tuberculosis, taking them in large quantities for a long time can have a negative effect on the body.
In addition, in recent years, the increase of resistant forms of tuberculosis mycobacteria is causing a decrease in the effectiveness of the drugs used in the therapy of tuberculosis.
Therefore, as in the therapy of many diseases, the creation of new drugs with relatively few side effects on the body and effective against various strains of disease-causing bacteria is one of the urgent issues in the therapy of tuberculosis. was calculated.

Taking into account these problems, the scientists of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Federal Republic of Uzbekistan created the drug Biomayrin, which helps in the treatment of tuberculosis. Biomayrin drug was obtained by chemically changing pectin, a natural polysaccharide substance, and attaching anti-tuberculosis drugs such as isoniazid, ethambutol, and rifampicin to it by means of chemical bonds.The drug Biomayrin, due to its macromolecular nature, supplies substances that affect the body (isoniazid, ethambutol and rifampicin) in sufficient quantities for a long time. Due to the fact that this drug is present in the body in doses lower than therapeutic concentrations, its side effects on the body are several times less compared to drugs used in practice. Also, the chemical substances contained in Biomayrin are stored in the body in a therapeutic dose for a long time (up to 48 hours), that is, the drug has a prolongation feature, and the patient can achieve an effective result even if he consumes it in small quantities. In addition, the presence of isoniazid, ethambutol and rifampicin in the composition of the Biomayrin drug ensures that the drug has an effective effect on sweat strains of mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Biomayrin drug is the product of 20 years of scientific research. Many medical specialists contributed to the creation of this drug. For example, we, chemists, were engaged in creating the technology of obtaining the drug, determining its composition and structure, and developing methods of analysis, while pharmacologists and medical workers studied its effect and effectiveness on the body. In a word, the work of the scientists of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Federal Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Phthisia and Pulmonology, the Institute of Veterinary Research of Uzbekistan, and the staff of the Tashkent Medical Academy are very important in turning the idea into a product.Currently, drugs used in the treatment of tuberculosis in our republic are mainly supplied by local manufacturers and various humanitarian organizations (UNICEF, etc.). Medicines produced by local pharmaceutical enterprises are generic drugs, the substances of which are imported from abroad.
Biomayrin drug is the first original anti-tuberculosis drug produced in our country and helps to effectively protect the health of the population of our country.
