Uzbekistan approves nighttime bus travel
Uzbekistan has approved nighttime passenger transport on buses. This applies to inter-city, inter-regional, and international routes. The buses will be equipped with driver work and rest monitoring devices.
Starting from January 1, 2024, the working hours of drivers for intercity, interregional, and international passenger vehicles will be tracked using tachographs, road sheets, and ticket records. Inspectors ensuring work and rest compliance will be equipped with necessary devices.
A forthcoming draft law will outline penalties by the Transport Control Inspection for violations of passenger transportation rules and work/rest schedules. The decision also mandates secure transportation of goods, such as construction materials, waste, and agricultural products.
Additionally, starting September 10, 2023, "Uzbekistan Railways" will require tarpaulin coverings for domestic cargo transported via open wagons.
