Uzbekistan boosts allergy prevention with free medications
Mass screening tests will be conducted in areas with high rates of allergic diseases, as per the presidential decision "On measures to improve the quality of prevention and treatment of allergic diseases."
To enhance the prevention system:
- Control over allergic disease indicators will be strengthened from the primary level of medicine, and targeted screening tests will be introduced.
Starting January 1, 2024:
A system of free inhaled medicines will be provided for patients with allergic and immunological diseases in the "Unified Register of Social Protection." Annual mass and selective screening examinations will be conducted in regions with high allergic disease rates. The number of high-tech diagnostic and treatment procedures in allergology and clinical immunology will gradually increase from 10 to 20 types.
On the same date, the Republican Scientific and Specialized Allergology Center will transform into the Republican Scientific and Applied Medical Center of Allergology and Clinical Immunology. Specialized and urgent medical care for allergic diseases will be offered at the Center for residents of Tashkent city.
Starting in 2024, a system will be implemented that:
Studies the composition and seasonal spread of aeroallergens causing allergic diseases in the region. Regularly submits results to the Hydrometeorological Service Agency by the International Molecular Allergology Center. Publishes information on aeroallergen composition, seasonal distribution, and environmental pollution through relevant websites and other sources.
By April 1, 2024, an electronic register of patients with allergic diseases will be created and put into practice.
