Uzbekistan builds hospitals to treat coronavirus patients

In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection and strengthen effective treatment measures in Uzbekistan, work has begun on the building of a number of hospitals to be completed shortly.

In particular, three modern specialized medical facilities are being built in the city of Tashkent. The first of the buildings is the newly-built Children’s Infectious Diseases Hospital No. 3 (144 beds) and Children’s Cardio-Rheumatology Clinical Hospital No. 4 (158 beds) in Chilanzar District.

Tashkent Dental Institute is being transformed in a 250-bed modern medical facility to be completed by May this year.

In addition, 55 hectares of land have been allocated for the construction of a quarantine center in the Yukorichirchik district of Tashkent region. This project is hoped to be completed soon.

Another major medical center is to be built in the Zangiata district. 27 hectares of land have been allocated for the construction of a hospital with a 10,000-bed capacity. This project is actively underway and is hoped to be completed in the near future.

Similar buildings and centers for quarantine and treatment of those infected with coronavirus are being built in Andijan, Navoi and Surkhandarya regions.
