Uzbekistan to receive over 1.2mn doses of Pfizer by November
Uzbekistan by November this year is set to receive more than 1.2mn doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine under the COVAX facility.
"Within the framework of the COVAX mechanism, we expect additional supplies of AstraZeneca vaccine in the amount of 660,000 doses in the near future, and then another 276,000 doses of this drug. In addition, deliveries of 1.2mn doses of Pfizer/BioNTech are planned for the autumn, " said Munir Mammadzade, head of the UNICEF Representative Office in Uzbekistan.
He added that UNICEF would provide technical support for their transportation and further storage.
