Uzbekistan installs first large-scale wind turbine
The first 4.7MW turbine of the Goldwind company (PRC) was installed as part of the construction project of a 500 MW wind power plant in the Tomdi district of the Navoi by the UAE company "Masdar".
Its height is 97 meters, and each of its wings is 77 meters.
In the following years, a total of 111 wind turbines will be installed within this large project.
The first capacities of this power plant will be put into operation at the end of this year, and it is considered the largest wind power plant in Central Asia.
When the station is fully operational, 1 billion 800 million kWh of electricity will be produced per year. As a result, 540 million cubic meters of natural gas will be saved per year, and 720,000 tons of harmful gases will be prevented from being released into the atmosphere.
