Information on strategic reforms for 2024 presented

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the presentation on key strategic reforms to be implemented this year. 

The presentation considered reforms in 5 key areas - transport, urbanization and urban planning, enterprise development, agriculture and energy.

The meeting noted the need to accelerate the process of transferring airports to the private sector for effective management.

For the development of financial services, e-commerce, distance learning and medical services in the regions, the importance of providing quality internet was pointed out.

Special attention was given to the issue of transferring certain functions of the state to the private sector, among which are the improvement of territories, management of free economic zones.

Agriculture plays an important role in providing the population with food and employment. However, outdated approaches are still in place in some of its sectors. Therefore, specific solutions are needed to increase yields and reduce production costs, and to introduce innovations in the sphere.

To maintain the pace of economic growth, first of all, it is necessary to ensure stable energy supply. This year 122 large investment projects totaling 50 billion dollars will be launched. At the same time, the number of population and enterprises is growing. In the coming years, the demand for energy will increase at least 1.5 times. Besides, energy consumption remains high in some sectors.

The Head of State, reviewing the proposals in these areas, emphasized the need to create a legal framework and reliable guarantees for investors.

- In 2024 we should complete all the processes of building the foundation of a market economy and in 2025 bring the national economy to a completely new level of quality," – Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The President also emphasized the need to involve all research institutes of the republic in the reform process and prepare a large roadmap.
