Uzbekistan and Egypt boost cooperation
Presidents of Egypt and Uzbekistan adopted a joint statement to expand cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural and educational spheres. In this regard, numerous bilateral documents were signed due to negotiations. They envisage developing cooperation between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and the General Directorate of Investments of Egypt, in such areas as plant quarantine and plant protection, organisation of public health, attracting investments and strengthening bilateral investment relations, technical regulation, exchange of experience in development issues.
Memorandums of understanding were also signed between the Center of Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Institute of Oriental Studies named after Abu Rayhan Beruni and the Egyptian National Library and Archives.
