Minenergy: gas and light issue in Uzbekistan will be fully solved by 2030

The problem of disruptions in electricity and natural gas supplies in Uzbekistan will be completely solved by 2027-2030. This was announced by the head of the press service of the Ministry of Energy, Hasan Tashkhodjayev, at a press conference.

The level of exhaustion of the country's electric power industry is about 40%. Out of 274 thousand kilometers of overhead networks, 122 thousand kilometers or 44.5% are outdated. Of more than 94 thousand transformers, 33 thousand are old.

"Last year, 14.5 trillion soums were allocated for the sector. If we take all the work that needs to be done as 100%, we have done 18-20% for this amount.

But there is still a lot of work to be done on the ground. The price increase does not mean that we will instantly supply consumers with high-quality, uninterrupted, stable electricity. As I have already said, if we have done 18-20% of the work in a year with a large amount of money, we have at least 3-4 more years of work ahead of us. We hope that in 3-4 years by 2027-2030 there will be no problems with the supply of electricity and natural gas," Hasan Tashkhodjaev said.

If the allocated subsidies are used for modernization of the industry, more work can be done in this area.
