Uzbek airports soar with 35% passenger traffic increase
During a two-day "team building" event in Tashkent, employees and managers from various divisions of Uzbek Airports, including directors from international airports gathered. The seminar covered the first half of 2023 performance across all divisions, revealing a 35% increase in passenger traffic this year, reaching almost 5 million passengers.
Tashkent airport experienced a 39% rise to 3 million passengers. The projection for the year's end anticipates 9.2 million passengers overall, with 7 million in Tashkent. Presently, 59 airlines operate flights to Uzbekistan, including 7 resident companies. Weekly flights surged by 30% to around 800, and the company's gross profit rose by 30% in six months. Moreover, tax benefits escalated by 47% compared the prior year.
The discussion also included preparation for the forthcoming autumn-winter season. Over the last two years, specialized equipment worth 626 billion soums was procured, covering anti-icing solutions for aircraft and airfield snow removal. The leaders were tasked with ensuring winter readiness.
