Uzbek Minister of Health invites head of WHO to Uzbekistan
Minister of Health Behzod Musaev met with the head of WHO and invited him to visit Uzbekistan
As part of the participation of the delegation of Uzbekistan in the work of the 75th session of the World Health Assembly, a bilateral meeting was held between the Minister of Health Bekhzod Musaev and the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Ghebreyesus.
During the meeting, the minister expressed gratitude to WHO for assisting Uzbekistan in ensuring equal access to vaccines within the framework of the COVAX initiative. He also invited Tedros Ghebreyesus to visit Uzbekistan in order to further expand the republic's cooperation with the WHO and get acquainted on the ground with the whole range of reforms in the country in the healthcare sector.
The head of WHO recalled with particular warmth his recent meeting with the leadership of the Board of Trustees of the Mass Media Foundation in Geneva.
A significant improvement in the health care system in recent years was noted and the readiness of the organization's experts to provide all possible assistance to the government of Uzbekistan in the implementation of the initiated large-scale reforms was indicated.
